Truist Park

Truist Park travel guide and bucket list.

Game Plan at a Glance

Best Time

April, May, September, and night games are the most comfortable. Summer day games can be very hot and humid, while Friday and Saturday nights deliver the biggest Battery Atlanta atmosphere. Weeknight games are usually easier for tickets, parking, and postgame exits.

Ticket Strategy

Use the Braves’ official ticketing or trusted resale markets and compare prices by section, not just listing cost. NL East matchups, weekend nights, giveaways, and postseason races price higher. For value, shop weekday games, upper-deck infield seats, or single seats close to first pitch.

Arrival Strategy

For a game-only visit, arrive 60–90 minutes before first pitch. If you want dinner or drinks at The Battery, arrive 2–3 hours early and make reservations when possible. Pre-purchase parking, follow the assigned lot route, and expect I-75 and I-285 traffic to be heavy before weekday games.

Why This Park Belongs on the Bucket List

Truist Park delivers a modern Braves game day with strong sightlines, lively concourses, and one of MLB’s best built-in entertainment districts next door at The Battery Atlanta. The ballpark is in the Cumberland area northwest of downtown Atlanta, so the best trips are planned around traffic, pre-purchased parking, and extra time to eat or explore before first pitch.

Seats, Shade, and Comfort

Best Seats

For the best overall view, target lower infield sections between the dugouts or the first few rows of the upper deck behind home plate. Club-level seats add shade, padded comfort, shorter lines, and lounge access. Budget travelers should look for 400-level seats behind home plate rather than deep outfield corners.

Shade Strategy

Shade is best in higher rows under overhangs, club-level areas, and seats behind home plate as the game progresses. For late-afternoon and evening games, the third-base side generally gets relief earlier than the first-base and right-field areas. For summer day games, prioritize covered or club seating if comfort matters.

Weather Notes

Atlanta weather is warm for much of the season, with summer heat, humidity, and pop-up thunderstorms common. Spring can be pleasant but occasionally rainy, while September games are often ideal. Check the forecast before leaving and build in time for weather or traffic delays.

What Not to Miss

Walk The Battery before the game, take a lap around the 360-degree concourse, visit Monument Garden for Braves history and Hank Aaron tributes, and spend an inning in the outfield social areas such as the Chop House or right-field rooftop spaces.

Signature Food

Look for Southern-leaning ballpark staples, H&F Burger, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q options, local craft beer, and Atlanta-area favorites throughout the concourses and The Battery.

Insider Tips

  • Pre-purchase parking and follow the exact route to your assigned lot.
  • Do not assume MARTA rail goes to the ballpark; plan the final connection in advance.
  • Arrive early if you want dinner at The Battery, especially on weekends.
  • For summer games, pay extra for shade or club access if heat is a concern.
  • After the game, linger at The Battery for 30–60 minutes to avoid the worst exit traffic.

Trip Design

Day Trip Blueprint

Arrive in the Cumberland area by mid-afternoon, park in a pre-purchased Braves lot, and spend time at The Battery for a meal or drink. Enter early enough to see Monument Garden and take a concourse lap, watch the game, then let traffic thin with a postgame snack or drink before leaving.

Weekend Blueprint

Stay Friday night at The Battery or in Midtown. Use Saturday for the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, the BeltLine, or Ponce City Market, then head to Truist Park early for dinner and a night game. On Sunday, choose brunch at The Battery or explore Atlanta neighborhoods before heading home.

Local Picks

At The Battery, consider Antico Pizza, Superica, Garden & Gun Club, Terrapin Taproom with Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Punch Bowl Social, or Live! at The Battery for a lively crowd. Elsewhere in Atlanta, pair the trip with Ponce City Market, the BeltLine Eastside Trail, Krog Street Market, the Georgia Aquarium, or the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park.

Nearby

The Battery Atlanta is directly outside the gates and includes restaurants, bars, shops, patios, live entertainment, and the Coca-Cola Roxy concert venue. It is the best pregame and postgame area and removes the need to drive elsewhere for food or drinks.

Travel and Entry Logistics

Getting There

Driving is the most practical option because Truist Park is in the Cumberland/Cobb County area, not downtown. MARTA rail does not go directly to the ballpark; visitors can connect via CobbLinc buses, hotel shuttles, rideshare, or drive. Rideshare works well but can surge after the final out, so consider waiting at The Battery before leaving.

Where to Stay

For the easiest game trip, stay at the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta or another Cumberland/Galleria hotel within a short ride or walk. For a full Atlanta weekend, Midtown, Buckhead, or Downtown offer better access to museums, restaurants, nightlife, and MARTA rail, but plan extra travel time to the park.

Bag Policy Snapshot

Truist Park has a restrictive bag policy. In general, standard bags and backpacks are not allowed, with limited exceptions for small clutches, medical bags, and diaper bags. Policies can change, so confirm the latest Braves bag rules before game day and travel light to speed up entry.

Accessibility Planning

Truist Park offers accessible seating, elevators, ramps, accessible restrooms, and ADA parking options. Buy accessible seats in advance when possible and contact Braves guest services for mobility assistance, sensory accommodations, or specific entry guidance.
